JOB DESCRIPTION

A leading company in the pharmaceutical industry is currently seeking a Director of Environmental Health and Safety to join their team. The role will be challenging but also highly rewarding and this leader will be a key voice in the company. For the right executive, this is a fantastic opportunity with great growth prospects. Key duties include:

1) Provide consultation and information regarding environmental protection
2) Investigate and evaluate root causes for occupational injuries
3) Promote a learning culture within the business
4) Ensure a safe and compliant work environment for associates
5) Monitor the progress of plans against objectives
6) Ensure that appropriate risk assessments are conducted
7) Develop, administer and update the EHS Management System
8) Monitor compliance with current contractual, legal and regulatory requirements
9) Support EHS initiatives
10) Identify and facilitate improvements to business processes, facilities and equipment
11) Facilitate learning events for significant events and injury cases
12) Comply with all quality, safety, health and environmental policies and regulations
13) Identify project risks and create measurements
14) Create, control and approve documents
15) Review concepts, processes and SOPs in order to guarantee good quality
16) Participate in the due diligence process for new business acquisitions
17) Schedule and lead project meetings
18) Ensure compliance with all implemented changes and actions

CRITICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • 1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field
    2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)
    3) Recent experience in the pharmaceutical industry is strongly preferred
    4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in environmental health and safety management
