We are seeking an Associate Director of Program Management for our facility in Indianapolis.  This position will be responsible for running a program of technology initiatives.  This position will be a liaison between Corporate PMO and CLS. Will have project oversight to RPA (Systems Enabled Automation SEA) design and deliver global (non-study related) project management services processes, tools and analytics. The incumbent will be responsible for a portfolio of projects identified via LaunchPad processes.The incumbent has a responsibility to work with project managers, service line leaders, scientific leaders and site leaders.


Duties will include the following:


  • Design and implement global Systems Enabled Access systems to ensure consistency of practice for managing clients, client programs and Covance internal projects. This includes the design of client management tools, key performance indicators (KPIs), and review processes to ensure delivery of client valid requirements across all service line laboratories.
  • Act as the primary POC (point of contact) working across multiple sites to ensure consistency of message and practices across the service line.
  • Work across all Covance units with departmental leaders, site project managers, and scientific leaders to facilitate setting priorities, developing agendas and designing objectives related to project management and process excellence initiatives.
  • Demonstrate Project Management and Systems Enabled Access techniques on existing projects by managing multiple priorities effectively and meeting commitments in an accurate, efficient and timely manner.
  • Identify and present opportunities to business leaders to improve client satisfaction, increase net income, enhance productivity and further employee performance across business units within the same division.
  • Identify and share leveraging opportunities or best practices across the enterprise
  • Work across multiple disciplines – including ED, R&D labs and Covance-Wide
  • Serve as a key member of global CLS Business Solutions and EPMO leadership team
  • Strategic in focus – understanding CLS business strategy and priorities in setting up systems and processes to meet needs; includes financial elements of projects and process excellence initiatives.
  • Establishing priorities in alignment with our corporate strategy and CLS priorities.
  • Partner and collaborate with other CLS leaders/Corporate PMO to establish a cohesive, trusting and effective team dynamics.
  • Develop analytics to aid in the diagnosis of issues and monitoring and evaluating impact of initiatives. Helping to ensure that CLS remains on track to deliver on financial, scientific and workforce objectives related to LaunchPad
  • Provide recommendations on resources for key strategic initiatives dealing with multiple business streams and multiple sites
  • Identify and report LaunchPad, Process Improvement and Synergies savings and opportunities
  • Train, mentor, coach and challenge others in the use of project management tools and Process Excellence approached and techniques.
  •  Display significant autonomy .
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • MBA/MS preferred.
  • 10+ years of Business Leadership & Management
  • Experience in Project Management methodologies such as Six Sigma, Agile etc
  • Experience in Change Management
  • Excellent team player and team builder
  • Excellent knowledge of Clinical Drug Development and laboratory operations (desired).
