Our client, a leading pharmaceutical company, is currently recruiting a Maintenance Planner who will infuse the team with their talent, energy and leadership skills. 1) Be the principal contact and liaison person between Maintenance, Operations, and other supported departments for planned work activities in the next week and beyond and plan for plant wide major and minor shutdown work
2) Prepare the weekly schedule by proper prioritization of work and maintain a backlog of schedule ready work. This should be at least one week out with succeeding weeks in more a draft form
3) Be guardian of the CMMS/EAM data and responsible for maintaining equipment history as detailed and complete as possible
4) Analyze the backlog, ensuring all planned work is prioritized and backlog relief exists 
5) Maintain backlog files of work orders waiting and schedule in accordance with their priority limits with an estimated completion date. Work orders that are unplanned, requiring engineering, waiting for materials, waiting for downtime, etc.., have statuses accordingly 
6) Use equipment history and work with Maintenance Engineering to review the history for trends and make recommendations for improvements. Update PM content & frequencies 
7) Develop Planner reference systems including a file of Planned Job Packages for recurring jobs, plus labor and material libraries for each equipment center
8) Review with the maintenance team leaders the actual labor expended versus estimated labor and material used for completed jobs, in order to determine corrective measures needed to improve the accuracy of estimating and improving methods of doing work
9) Assist maintenance and operations management in periodically analyzing costs and, where necessary, recommend corrective action needed to reduce maintenance costs 
10) Participate in budgetary preparation, tracking, and analysis


  • 1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field
    2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)
    3) Recent experience in the life sciences industry is strongly preferred
