Main Objective: Performs light preparation functions and finishing operations to incoming and manufactured Inventory items and sub assemblies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1.Set-up and operate a variety of hand-operated tools and light duty machines to assist in the manufacture of product specified on work orders using engineering prints and work instructions. 2.Performs tasks such as but not limited to buffing, filling, drilling, reaming, sandblasting and etching. 3.Assembles sub-assemblies as per specifications with the use of measuring equipment, specialized hand tools, orbital riveting machines and microscopes. 4.Assists Assemblers with finished device assembly including but not limited to etching and sandblasting etc. 5.Performs or initiates any cleaning or maintenance required by the Preventative Maintenance schedule on the machines within the department. 6.Works primarily supervised. Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training: High level of manual dexterity. Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills: Various light duty machines and hand tools and measuring equipment. Reasoning Ability: Ability to troubleshoot problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw a valid conclusion as to the best course of action. Mathematical Skills Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements. Language and Communication Skills: Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above. Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management. Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
