JOB DESCRIPTION

A leading company in the pharmaceutical industry is currently seeking a VP of Business Development to take their team to remarkable heights of success. The role will be challenging but also highly rewarding, and this leader will be a key voice in the company. Details:

1) Lead the company's business development outreach; garnering partnership opportunities for company programs, and serving as the point of contact
2) Identify and acquire new partnership opportunities through an existing network of prior contacts within the life sciences, and establish new relationships
3) Plan and lead presentations at international conferences such as BIO 2016, Partnership Opportunities in Drug Development, World Antibody Drug Congress, etc., where new and existing connections with other business development colleagues will be established
4) Maintain existing and ongoing relationships, as proper alliance management is crucial to effective deal negotiations
5) Attend strategic meetings at the executive management level, which may include presentations to the Board of Directors, shareholders, venture capitalists and others
6) Report monthly on outreach activities to the CEO to determine progress and identify areas where outreach needs to be improved in order to be successful
7) Plan and set the business development direction and strategy for the organization in partnership with the executive team
8) Analyze alternate strategies and potential opportunities including new markets, partnerships and joint ventures
9) Research and anticipate business needs in current and potential market segments, and determine the most effective product solutions
10) Develop, implement and monitor standards to assess product results and performance

CRITICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • 1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field
    2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)
    3) Recent experience in the pharmaceutical industry is strongly preferred
    4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in business development
