JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client, a leading pharmaceutical company, is currently seeking an accomplished Director of Pharmaceutical Development to join the team. Here is an overview of the role:

1) Implement comprehensive development strategies and tactics to meet global project needs that incorporate all elements across the drug substance, drug product, analytical, quality and regulatory work space
2) Lead a high-performing scientific and technical cross functional team of Pharmaceutical Development scientists and engineers
3) Track and report compound specific expense plans against predefined spending targets
4) Ensure appropriate technical, scale-up and production strategies and timelines are in place to meet clinical supply and registration needs
5) Ensure production, technology transfer, validation and regulatory outcomes meet or exceed industry standards
5) Represent Pharmaceutical Development on the Global Project Teams for assigned compounds
6) Communicate effectively and transparently with functional representatives within Pharmaceutical Development and other stakeholders such as Quality, Toxicology, Clinical Pharmacology, Regulatory, Clinical and Commercial Manufacturing, etc. across the company
 7) Lead cross functional activities required for the development of pharmaceutical products  
8) Maximize alignment, cooperation, input, decision making, commitment and synergy of Pharmaceutical Development team members to ensure their technical contributions, meet or exceed program objectives
9) Promote a “One-Team Culture” among scientists and engineers in drug substance, drug product and analytical development
10) Provide sound scientific and technical leadership and advocacy to support the development of robust manufacturing processes and products, integrating current regulatory and industry standards

CRITICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • 1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field
    2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)
    3) Recent experience in the pharmaceutical industry is strongly preferred
    4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in pharmaceutical development
